Simon Godsiff is a 35-year-old New Zealand cinematographer. 

Simon graduated Film & Television School in 2002, before entering the film industry at Weta Workshop. Over the course of seven years Simon worked on feature films including CHRONICLES OF NARNIA, DISTRICT 9, AVATAR, ELYSIUM and KING KONG. 

Simon continues to strengthen his reputation as a talented Director of Photography, shooting short films, commercials, and international art projects, including Joseph Michael's “Antarctica - while you were sleeping”. 

Simon's dedication to crafting meaningful images with emotive lighting is echoed across both the live-action and CG worlds. Collaborating closely with eight directors across three seasons, his meticulous work on the hit TV series THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO has been celebrated world-wide, with a total of 78 episodes to his name. Simon worked closely with CGI lighting teams on the show, briefing set lighting design that would integrate with the live action miniature photography. 

Simon’s in-depth knowledge of visual effects and special effects has proven to be a valuable asset alongside his respected approach to live-action cinematography. His extensive experience working with 3D previs and techvis is another pivotal resource brought to productions utilising visual effects or challenging technical sequences. His latest work includes the use of new filmmaking technologies, including LED Wall Virtual Production technology. 

Coupled with his renowned and earnest on-set working style, Simon's innate ability to collaborate and form cogent working relationships with a wide range of creatives, provides a valuable asset to any and all productions he works on.
